Gospel – The ‘Good News’ is Jesus Christ, the fulfillment of the prophecies of the Old Testament of the coming Redeemer, who came to this sinful earth, took upon Him the form of a bond servant, who lived a perfect sinless life for us, who conquered sin for us on the cross of Calvary by dying for our sins, once and for all, who rose from the dead and conquered death that we might have eternal life, who ascended to heaven where He is interceding for us by His blood before the Father and is coming back to take His people home to heaven.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Salvation is the way of God almighty to provide deliverance to mankind from sin and spiritual death through repentence and faith in Lord Jesus Christ.
It is a ‘Complete Package’: The salvation of God is a complete package from the above - the greatest Gift to mankind – Jesus Christ and all blessings that follow. The three aspects of Salvation are justification – past, sanctification – present and glorification – future
Justification – To be justified means to be declared “not guilty” in the eyes of the Lord. It is separation from the penalty of sin. Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 1 Peter 1:3-5: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
Sanctification – It is the practicality of separating oneself unto God. Every human, born again in Christ, is a “work in progress” free from the power of sin. Romans 6:1-3: “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?”
Glorification – The wonderful hope for a Christian in Christ that is an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven, according to the Bible, which states ththe ultimate and perfect conformity to Lord Jesus Christ and hence, be free of the presence of sin, the final part of this divine gift. 1 John 3:2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
6You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
